The Princess Cinderella Story 

The story of Cinderella dates back to the 17th century. Cinderella's classic rags to riches story was originally written by Charles Perrault to entertain the French court of Louis XIV.

The Cinderella story was adapted in 1812 by the Grimm brothers. This was a violent and scary adaptation which fortunately never had wide popularity!

The Walt Disney World studios went through difficult times during World War II and the subsequent years. The Cinderella movie was a big gamble. If it had not paid off this may have been the end for Disney Studios animation. Fortunately, Cinderella was a tremendous success and it was one of the highest grossing films of the year following it's release in 1950.
